The plasma-ion assisted deposition technology enables optical coatings to be deposited on heat-sensitive materials, such as plastics. Usually, anti-reflective coatings, beam splitters or simple edge filters are applied to plastics. With regard to climate resistance, it is important which type of plastic is used. Cycloolefin-polymers (e.g. Zeonex) show best results.
